case: University of British Columbia

Building for the front page

We collaborated with the University of British Columbia in Vancouver to execute their website redesign, creating a seamless user interface (UI) that would enhance the academic experience for both students and teachers.

Navigating Knowledge

In today's educational landscape, having a responsive (UX) and well-designed interface (UI) is essential for every university, benefiting both students and teachers. Recognizing this need, the University of British Columbia approached us to implement an accessible user interface for their virtual campus.

The primary objective of this project was to design a website that could meet the diverse needs of students, teachers, and other users. This involved implementing a user interface (UI) that strategically organized all the information. Most importantly, there was a special focus on developing a smooth user experience (UX).

Thanks to this approach, we successfully delivered a product that allowed all parties to navigate the campus seamlessly.

Challenges

  1. Develop a responsive UI to cater to both teachers and students.
  2. Translate the initial design into an accessible website.

Journey

In the beginning, we received a Photoshop file from the University outlining the desired design, and we translated it into code. To achieve all the objectives, we employed the FrontEnd 'holy triad': HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. These universal tools provided the perfect structure, enabling us to construct a tailor-made and interactive website.

Destination

Thanks to the provided model, we successfully transformed the online campus of the University of British Columbia into an accessible and responsive website. We addressed the objectives and delivered a well-designed user interface, thereby enhancing the overall user experience.
